CAREFULLY READ AND SIGN THE

VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT

This agreement reflects The Policy Project's appreciation for our volunteers and outlines the expectations for both parties. Our goal is to ensure that your experience is both productive and rewarding.

Please note that this agreement is not a legally binding contract; it is based on mutual respect and shared commitment. There is no intent to establish an employment relationship now or in the future. This agreement may be canceled at any time at the discretion of either party.

The Policy Project welcomes all volunteers with the understanding that service is at the sole discretion of The Policy Project. Volunteers acknowledge that The Policy Project may terminate the volunteer relationship at any time for any reason. While we request a six-month commitment, volunteers may also choose to end their relationship with The Policy Project at any time. Notice of such a decision should be communicated as soon as possible to the volunteer’s supervisor.

The Policy Project commits to:

  • Provide adequate information, training, and feedback to help you meet the expectations outlined in your volunteer role description.

  • Clearly explain what is required of you and offer support and encouragement to achieve the desired results.

  • Treat you with respect and courtesy at all times.

  • Be receptive to comments and feedback from all volunteers.

  • Value and recognize volunteers as significant resources in achieving the goals of our organization.

The Volunteer commits to:

  • Fulfill my role as outlined by my supervisor.

  • Perform my volunteer duties to the best of my ability.

  • Meet time and task commitments, providing sufficient notice when unavailable.

  • Represent The Policy Project positively and accurately when engaging with others.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information encountered during my involvement with The Policy Project. This includes all proprietary information and data related to the organization, including client and donor information, in any format.

  • Attend the monthly All Hands Meeting and Department Meeting in person. If necessary, you may join virtually, but please inform us in advance if you are unable to attend.

Please submit the form below to complete the agreement. We look forward to partnering with you to promote healthy, equitable policy!
